AFR offset

Post by Christian »

Hi

When playing with my new wideband I noticed a slight delay between measured AFR and fuel put into the engine (load point in the fuelmap)

I think the reason is (obviously) that it takes time for the mixture to burn and pass exhaust valves and lambda sensor (which itself has a short delay)

I think it would be nice to shift the measured AFR ratio in the logging a few 0.x seconds to compensate this.

What do you think?

it would be complicated and something you would have to do on log playback side of things

Yes, this is what I thought.
You could analyze your logfiles and have AFR at the correct position, not 0.5-1 sec later.

log files are played as they are read in from the file due to the size they get we dont buffer them into memory

we would need to either (a) buffer them and then readjust or (b) alter the log file

either way it will result in in missing some consult at the start and AFRs at the end
