Simultaneous injection on stock RB30ET ecu during warm-up

Post by Hal »

Didn't realise this until today while chasing another injection issue [more on that later]. I thought they only did simultaneous during cranking or high load.
But my cro doesn't lie, it showed simultaneous injection until engine temp was about 50c [570 ohms at temp sensor], then it switched to group.

To prove a point that it was temp sensor related, I tried unplugging the temp sensor when the engine warmed to the changeover temp and connecting a 1k pot to the harness. I could switch the ecu between the two modes at will by rotating the pot shaft back and forth over the switch point resistance.
Car is stock VL RB30ET.

Yeah, it's only ever simultaneous or odd/even injector groups. it's hard wired.
Try changing the temp value or temp chart in software, it should do the same.

Yes, I knew they do the two modes, just didn't know that it stayed on sim. until 50c.
The service manual for VL turbo only quotes cranking and hi power for sim. but then service manuals are often not quite right in some small details.

yeah true, Could be the same service manual that states the timing belt should have a 54 tooth count between gear markers..

This is in wrong section (Type 1 board)

Similar to Z31 VG30ET ECU where it switches over at 60 degrees:

Ah sorry Matt, move the whole thread if you want/can. Thanks for confirming that cold running is sim. injection
