Frequent updates to ECU; how often to burn?

Post by longflare »

Hey guys, a bit of a newby, and dunno lots of the basic stuff.
Is there still actually an EEPROM inside my RB30e ECU, or is, 'burn', an equivalent process?
How many times can an EEPROM be re-written?
Am I going to run out of burns?
Should I save my changes in local files and only burn when I'm really done?

-----------

2 x R31 Skylines;
1. Clapped out RB30ET, 5spd, (VLT T3), cheap cooler with restrictive pipes, 14psi, 3 inch mandrel full system with good cat, (good for tuning practise)
2. Fresh RB30ET auto, (VLT T3), cross pipe only yet, ~10psi, 2.5 inch to cat, then stock. Cooler and pipes are ready.

Its not EEPROM, its NVRAM, so burn as often as you like. You won't wear it out.

NVRAM = RAM + EEPROM

You get something like 100,000 burns with these
