CA18DET Safety Rev / Load Limit

Post by louiswun »

Under what circumstances, these two Limiter kicks in ?
I come across an S13 CA18DET, it cuts out only at hot engine at around 6,000 rpm.
When cuts appear, it got pops and bangs on the tail pipe.
The cut does not appear when engine is in normal temperature.
I want to check if the cut is ECU related.

Safety limits only kick in normally when speed = 0 (ie no speedo signal) some ECUs also look at the neutral switch input in combination with it

To check which speed limiter is being used, lower them during testing to say 2000rpm and check it again
