IACV help

Post by OMG70 »

Hi , I can’t use the factory IACV as I have a greedy intake manifold and had to blank the IACV off as it was in the way of the steering column (the SR20det is now in my MGB roadster). Cold start is a real pain so I would like to do something about it. Can I install a universal 2 wire IACV , will it work with nistune ?

As long as it operates a similar way with pulsating the airflow it should be fine. The ECU just controls the duty cycle at 12 V so that seems compatible

Some ECUs have a fast idle control device, but that is used when the AC is operated. I don't see that on the SR20DET pinout, only pin 113 for example on the S14A/S15 SR20DET which does the idle control valve (AAC)

On these ones the ECU controls timing during cold starts, and adds extra fuel enrichment

Older ECUs like the RB30/VG30 had an air regulator valve controlled by the ECU to add more airflow, but I don't see it on these
