Re: o2 Operation/theory
thats what im thinking. also i cant touch the k value at all or it just kills the engine. i have been using all the maps from the 87 turbo mt rom and copying them in. i just need to bump the TIM up to 565 do get it to idle with the least amount of misfires. and also timing once warmed up bounces aro...

Re: Z31 aircond sw
My spare nistune board seems to be corrupt. It does not turn the fuel pump on and when I try to connect. It says it's connected but to check maf voltage.

Re: o2 Operation/theory
I'm pretty sure the long term fuel trim is not displaying the correct data. Seems to have no correlation with the short term trim. And almost seems like a engine load. If you put it under heavy load it goes up to a positive number. And when coasting it will drop to -9 or greater. It's also changing ...

Re: Z31 aircond sw
I am running the feature pack rom. And fuel temp is just set to 25c from the settings. Also I don't have a neutral switch and did some testing on that too. That doesn't detect the neutral switch either. That shows it off all the time. I had/have a nistune that has the non feature pack that was insta...

Re: o2 Operation/theory
So looking at the idle areas on the stock map have a filtered value of 8. And o2 enablement. So it requires an addition trim in the positive to get the 14.7. If I enable the o2 on my car I see afr's up to 16-17 when accelerating. But o2 disabled it's in the mid to low 13s. It just seems like the o2 ...

is the car still NA with no turbo.
are you having any issues with driveability?
Adjusting KConst will have an effect on the MAX TP readings as its directly related. you can scale down you scalers to set a max of say 60 and it will give you more resolution in your fuel and timing maps.

o2 Operation/theory
Quick question about the factory o2 sensor. from my understanding zeroing out cells on the fuel map with no other enrichment's should result in the o2 sensor aiming for ~14.7:1 AFR's. what happens when you have it set to say 8 on the fuel map with the o2 enabled? is it still trying to drive that to ...

i will give that a shot. i did order an additional ecu identical to the one i have just in case. it was cheap so i figured why not.

Re: Z31 aircond sw
Is there a way to see the raw data coming in? I have been trying to trace where on the ECU the data line goes from the pin. I'd have to guess this pin on the ECU is pulled to ground normally. I have also been comparing ECU boards. I have 3 86 ecu's only 1 turbo board. But 2 non turbo boards. One how...

the air conditioner turns on an off fine. im not sure if the ecu itself is damaged. does it affect fueling, idle speed or timing?

Z31 aircond sw
i have noticed on my 86 turbo that the aircond sw is always activated, regardless of the a/c on or off. i checked the signal to the ecu and its showing 0 and 12v. but its still showing on.
does nistune do anything with this information? the a/c trigger is directly wired to a ficd.

Re: AEM Smart Coil and tacho
try leaving the transistor wired in like factory.and tie the 5v ttl from green with black connected to your aem coil and the transistor. but grounding the coil directly to the body. the ecu should only be reading the triggering pulse from the transistor as sort of a feed back. and the tach must use ...
