Re: RB20 ECU running an RB25 what to use as a VCT controller

in standard form it's activated off idle (based on rpm and/or idle-sw) and basically once the car starts moving (based on neutral sw and vsp-sensor). If you can only set the window switch based on rpm, I wouldn't set it directly off idle, but probably at around 2000 rpm, as the engine may otherwise ...

Re: Will Nistune allow me to control my fans??

If you are using a Z32 ECU in a R33 RB25, the fan control variables can be ignored and won't do anything, as on the R33 the aux. fan is controlled by a thermo switch in the radiator and not by the ECU. If you want to be able to have it on sooner or control it, you'd best get a (manual/electronic) fa...

Re: Lean spot, cannot resolve

In that case I'm out of ideas. maybe there's a corruption in the code section within the Nistune board and it needs a reflash, using a base-image programmer. In that case I'd suggest you have the Nistune board flashed with a 47P10 base image at the same time, as that particular image seems to be the...

Re: A couple of Gtir questions

I can't do it anyway as it doesn't seem to be possible to run lean in the low load areas it is possible if you really want to by adjusting the K-value and disable O2 feedback completely, although it's not a recommended method, because all values in the fuelmaps will be off by an x-percent. you will...

Re: Lean spot, cannot resolve

Ok, that's weird...I can't find anything else in the maps/tables that can cause this.
maybe it is caused by a ROM incompatibility.

What is nistune showing to be your base-image ? (shown in the main bar, 23710-xxxxx REV: xx)

Re: Lean spot, cannot resolve

So, I need to make sense of the TP scaling. You want to have it scaled so you do not exceed your maps max TP column (so at max load, your TP is aligned with your final column correct, best is to give the the last value of the TP-scale about +10% extra on your maximum TP at full load, so you make ma...

Re: Lean spot, cannot resolve

Just blindly changing the scales without changing/shifting the corresponding columns is not a very good idea...especially for the ignition map ! You will have to 'shift' the columns (or rows) so they will keep in line with the scales and if necessary fill gaps in the map with averaged values for the...

Re: Lean spot, cannot resolve

Try setting the high gear coefficent to zero. (mandatory if you have a non standard TT diff. ) >because it is consistently resolved right as it moves from the 12th to the 13th "load" column. what's with the difference in TP-scaling of your fuel/ignition maps ? Best to keep these in the sam...

Re: Effect of too much ignition timing at idle?

In most cases idle should drop or the engine stalls when disconnecting the AAC

it could be the adjustment screw on the AAC is too far in, so the ECU can't really adjust the idle anymore.

Re: ECU Failing at Random

Already mentioned by Stu, but have you checked your alternator/battery voltage with running engine ?

It could be the alternator is on it's way out and causing voltage spikes, destroying your ECU's

Re: Effect of too much ignition timing at idle?

I guess the question is do the nissan ECUs use anything other than the AAC valve to control idle speed, eg mixture/ignition ? Yes, most later Nissan ECU's (type 3+ ECU's) use variable ignition timing at idle together with the AAC valve to do this. Not an RB20 ECU though. > Now I am chasing around a...

Hi Eric do You by any chance knows table fro Greddy MAP sensor? a quick google revealed this conversion table for the Greddy Emanage map-sensor :) psi = (14.508*voltage)-21.762 psi voltage -14 0.54 -13 0.6 -12 0.67 -11 0.74 -10 0.81 -9 0.88 -8 0.95 -7 1.02 -6 1.09 -5 1.16 -4 1.22 -3 1.29 -2 1.36 -1...

most AEM map sensors come with a conversion diagram/table (Voltage vs. pressure/vacuum), so you can use that.
