Re: Z32 speed input signal PPM

keep in mind my table is the (AC) hz to drive the speedometer. The electronics in the speedo then convert it to a pulse signal for the ECU and am not sure if it's the same as the input. But the speed that the ECU sees doesn't need to be very accurate, unless you are using the high gear maps (and hav...

Re: Z32 speed input signal PPM

here is a table I made a few years ago and that I use to calibrate Z32 speedometers . NA_HZ - TT_HZ - SPD (KMH) 156 173 60 258 286 100 355 393 140 458 507 180 504 557 200 649 718 260 NA-HZ = NA speedsensor-gear (red) + NA speedometer TT-HZ = TT sesnor-gear (blue) + TT speedometer

Re: RB25DET with Z32 ECU strange enrichment on light throttle

Not sure if it's the (main) cause of the problem, as you only posted a logfile and no maps, but your TPS is not set correctly...it drops to 0.26 V according to the log. Minimum base voltage@idle for the Z32 (ECU) should be between 0.4 - 0.5 V It seems because of the incorrectly set TPS, the Closed t...

Re: AIV Flags

the AIV system is only on Z32's afaik.
It injects air into the rear catalysts to help these get up to operating temperature.
Unless your car also has this system (and it is still fully functional), you can turn this off

Re: very lean AFR @ +/-3000-3500 rpm

Hello Robbert, have you tried bypassing/removing the BOV yet ? (like I suggested some time ago, when you came to me for advise) ..I think you're forgetting to mention the lean condition is usually accompanied with a hissing/surging sound. I am not sure if we already tried this, but another thing you...

Re: Strange AUX fan circuit operation - Z32TT Type 2 w/ Feature Pack ROM

What are your current fan parameter settings and switch flags ? also, is your main temp sensor working correctly ? If the ECU suspects it has failed it will override all fan settings and just turns on the aux fan on hi-speed. And I also regularly see people hardwire the aux fan to the AC relay in ca...

Re: TP SCALER CELL RANGE

That would require massive maps and I don't think it would make things clearer. Some might even be confused and think they can edit cells that are not actual cells in the real map. Other tuning software sometimes use a slightly different map tracing approach by using a cross-hair and a fine line dra...

Re: Differences in S14 FL/S14a JDM ECUs

it seems some S14's had a S14a type ECU. S14 old type ECU (always type 3 Nistune board ?) : 76 pin, 3 blue tabs on either side of the central bolt S14/S14A new type ECU (always type 4 Nistune board) : 64 pin, 2 blue tabs on either side of the central bolt One way to know for sure what board you need...

Re: Z32 FPCM

the Z32 TT / FPCM basically has 3 different modes, LOW LOAD (PUMP @ 6V) - MID LOAD (PUMP @ 7V) - HIGH LOAD (PUMP @ BATT VOLT) AFAIK controlled through a PWM signal on pin 104 either the required PWM values are different for the RB25 or the FPCM is (completely) different. Probably the easiest way to ...

Re: maf delete - Map conversion

I have used ECUMaster DET3 units in the past (on Z32's) for very decent and cheap MAFMAP conversions. Should work on other Nissan models as well. These small ECUMaster piggybacks are quite a bit cheaper then for example MAPecu's or similar.(or at least they used to be, the DET3 was less then 150 EUR...

Re: Limiting my car to say 3000rpm so it can't be thrashed

The screwdriver-punk usually goes for a quick steal and will give up fairly quickly if the car has been disabled by a good alarm/immobilizer. If the car also has a decent and well hidden kill switch on top of that, it will be near impossible to get the car started within a couple of minutes. profess...

Re: Limiting my car to say 3000rpm so it can't be thrashed

> Anti-theft Better option would then be to disable all cylinders (similar as is done by the consult power balance test to switch off cylinders) and maybe disable the fuelpump-relay control (also an active test) This is currently not possible with nistune (afaik) and would also mean altering some ro...
