Re: 65F00 ECU in Limp Home mode when Type 3 board installed??

Cheers for the info/advice mate. When you say do VCT seperately, what is VCT?? Also, S14/S14a DET ECU's and S13 DET ECU's are quite common here, but not the S13 DE ECU's, will need to try and source one tho.

Re: 65F00 ECU in Limp Home mode when Type 3 board installed??

The more I read around the more it seems this ECU requires a type 5 board, not a type 3. Problem is they are non-existant as of yet. Would http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-200SX-SILVIA-SR20DET-S14-ENGINE-ECU-AUTO-94-97-/230511310338?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35ab8b7602 <---- that...

65F00 ECU in Limp Home mode when Type 3 board installed??

Right, been at this all day and getting no-where. Have an S14 SR20DE with a 65F00 ECU. The lad has bought a Type 3 board (on recomendation from a local NIStune distributer). When I took the ECU out, it had already been mapped using the older method of 2 chips socketed into a board and then fitted. W...

Re: Strange lean running/misfire only in first gear??

Cheers for the advice Matt, but when I said it was using the same part of the map, I was meaning past 6000 RPM in 1st, 2nd & 3rd it used the same part of the map, but for some strange reason it was lean in first gear only. I knew it wasn't using the same part of the map lower down the revs where...

Strange lean running/misfire only in first gear??

Right, mapped this guys car a while ago, and it has developed a misfire in 1st at around 6000 RPM in first gear only. The fueling goes lean to about 13.5:1, but in 2nd & 3rd it's at 11.9/12.0:1 which is much more like it. The IDC is the same in all gears, the load is the same, the RPM is the sam...

Logging locked ECU?

Is it possible to just log an ECU with NIStune that has had a pin lock put on it? I know it would have to be wiped with a NIStune programmer in order to re-map it, but the lad just wants his car checked over right now.

Cheers!

Re: S13 SR20DET (red top) problems.

Well, turns out it was the MAF, swapped back to his stock one and the car responded as expected! Got the fueling all sorted today (12.5 on spool, dropping to 11.9/12.0 from 3500 RPM onwards), but laptop battery started to die, so have left the ignition advance for next weekend.

Cheers!

Re: S13 SR20DET (red top) problems.

1. did you try setting the K value at partial throttle/low load in 3rd or 4th gear to achieve stoich 14.7:1 afrs but without 02 feedback enabled? that should be your starting point for getting the K value right... 2. also, make sure to set TTPmin to 0 and TTPMax to the highest values in all cells t...

S13 SR20DET (red top) problems.

Got a lad who asked me to map his car for him. It's an SR20DET red top with a 50F00 ECU and NIStune type 3 board. Today I went to his, and we fitted his Z32 MAF & Tomei 555cc (yellow) injectors. Once done, put the ignition to on, but left the engine off. Resized the injectors from the stock 370c...

Cheers for the info guys. So can't be done via NIStune then. Might look into what KillerB suggested. 8)

Adjust Knock Sensor Sensitivity?

Just wondering, if you have a car that is logging knock, but there is nothing being heard via det-cans, can the sensitivity of the sensor be altered, so that is only pick up knock when you can actually hear it on det-cans?

If so, how?

Cheers!

Re: Same cells too lean on WOT, too rich on partial throttle

Yes, but keep in mind the Target AFR map view isn't accurate, and I believe no one really uses it to tune. How true is that? When you say, isn't accurate, do you mean that the values shown on there are what the ECU aims for, but the AFR's at the back are different, or do you mean, the values in the...
