Multiple Consult gauges cause NIStune to lock up
Noticed last night when logging a car with a generic chip using stream mode that if you bring up all the consult gauges on screen, it will show you everything going on, etc as it should. However from then on NIStune will stop responding. The gauges will keep working, but you can't close them and you...

Re: Boost control using OEM ECU for S14/S14a SR20
40*C Matt?! I wish I could be in that kind of climate! We get a MAX of 16 - 17*C in summer up here, and even then it never stops raining, during the winter we get as low as -16/-17*C!! Instead of raining like it does in summer it snows!! Can't wait to leave to somewhere with a warmer climate. :p Als...

Re: Problem connecting
You can buy a genuine PLMS cable from the NIStune website, and it's guaranteed to work. Also, it's a USB cable, so no need for any converters.Kruse wrote:Thanks for your replies.
Could you recommend a better cable? preferebly from a place that offers intl.shipping.

Re: Problem connecting
Is that an eBay cable? Looks like one. They are not built to the same quality as the PLMS, ECUtalk or blaZt cables. Quote taken from the PLMS website on NIStune.... Most cables are only designed to work with monitoring programs like Datascan, Conzult etc. These use a largely one-way data stream. A c...

TM_S13 is correct. Pretty sure Matt has it on his list of things to do, but it's not a top priority just now.

Re: Speed Desnity??
The other problem that people often overlook is that, although some code re-use exists, all the Nissan ECU families are different. So the effort put into say a Z32 ECU would need to be largely repeated to add the same functionality to an SR20 ECU. Often this sort of stuff comes down to individuals ...

Speed Desnity??
Just wondering if this could actually be done with NIStune? Totally remove the need for the MAF and it's limitations, just a 3-bar MAP sensor and an IAT sensor. Would mean no more worrying about intake pipework at funny bends or changing diamteter, etc. Would also give much better low load drivabili...

S14/S14a ECU Plug/Connector
The blue one with the bolt in the centre that screws into the ECU itself. Don't suppose anyone has one from an old loom they could snip off and send my way? Ideally could do with one from an S14 and an S14a, but mainly the S14a one. Not sure what they go for TBH, but let me know what your wanting an...

Re: Controlling boost via the ECU and a 3-port solenoid?
Cheers PL, that's quite interesting and might have to look into that. I have a spare S14 and S14a ECU lying around here. Been meaning to make a bench testing rig for AGES! lol I also have my mates S14a that could be used for some testing, because he is one of the guys that wants proper boost control...

Controlling boost via the ECU and a 3-port solenoid?
Been speaking to quite a few lads around here who have been complaining that the bleed type boost controllers are too unreliable/poor and that the electronic ones are too pricey for some of them. This got me thinking. On Evos using EcuFlash you can replace the original 2-port solenoid for a 3-port a...
