Re: VCC LED Stays ON after FW update with Base Image programmer

That would be great if you could take a look at it. I know you're a very busy guy. Do I send it to matt[@]nistune.com or info[@]nistune.com?

Re: VCC LED Stays ON after FW update with Base Image programmer

I reloaded the firmware and it is now showing 53F0 F . Thanks for your help! Now if I could just figure out how to import my old tunes correctly. I've started with the S13 KA24DE Feature Pack base tune and did the "import maps" operation, but I'm having no luck even getting the engine star...

Re: VCC LED Stays ON after FW update with Base Image programmer

Ok, thanks. What about the fact that the ECU shows up in Nistune as a 53F01 board, and not 53F0F?

VCC LED Stays ON after FW update with Base Image programmer

I'm updating a Type 3 board for a KA24DE with the Feature Pack firmware. I've been running Nistune on this ECU for over 8 years. Never had a problem with it. I am following the documentation step by step, desoldering the J1 jumper and bridging the PGM jumper, etc. The programmer appears to be writin...

Re: Flat shift

Oh, and if you want to start with S13 KA24DE, that would be okay, I guess. 8)

Re: Flat shift

Thanks, Matt. I just came back to the forums after a long hiatus and am just now learning about all of the new options in the feature pack. Fan control and launch control were the 2 things I've been looking forward to for years. Awesome stuff!

Re: Flat shift

So, I'm just trying to figure out some possible options here with the existing launch control. Granted I haven't even tried it yet as my car has been on jackstands for 5 months. But let's say I do the following: 1. Set my launch control fuel cut and ignition retard up 2. Turn the speed at which laun...

Re: Flat shift

So, what's the real difference between the settings that you would use for a launch control "2 step" rev limiter and flat shift? Can't you just set your launch control up to only be based on clutch switch input and not based on speed and accomplish the same thing as flat shift? So under WO...

Re: 12.11 upgrade... now I get an error and can't open Nistu

I was running 10.21 previously. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything and I still get the error. They loaded some encryption software on my laptop last wee at workk, and I'm wondering if that has something to do with it. I also noticed that it asked me about installing 64-bit drivers...

12.11 upgrade... now I get an error and can't open Nistune

So, I had a good working copy of Nistune, but I was forced to update and now I can't even get it to open. I believe my old tunes got erased as well, but I may have a backup of those. Has anyone encountered this error? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the Nistune software (v0.12.11 and...

Re: Issues with "TPS idle" - S13 ka24de ECU

Thanks, I'll try 9.14.21. I figured there might have been problems since 9.14.20 came out so quickly after 9.14.19.

S13 ECU's do have knock maps, btw.

Re: Issues with "TPS idle" - S13 ka24de ECU

Never heard of that one. Good info! Yeah, this must be why the voltage at which TPS idle activates kept changing on me. When diagnosing TPS issues and trying to get it working, I was unplugging it, turning off the key, turning on the key, plugging it back in, etc.,... so I was constantly resetting ...

Re: Issues with "TPS idle" - S13 ka24de ECU

Same issue happened on my customer's S14 AT or MT, also BNR32 GTR, it might be happen when forgot to switch off the ecu power before unplug the TPS, I'm not sure would this help on your case, just try this to reset the TPS, adjust the TPS voltage to 0.45v - 0.5v (temporarily neglect the TPS Idle sw...

Re: Issues with "TPS idle" - S13 ka24de ECU

I just ordered an OEM TPS sensor, because I just don't know what else to do here. I was hoping someone on here might have heard of this problem.

Would it help if I recorded a log file showing how this happens?
