Faulty knock detection and disabled flag

Hello. Not sure, if it's a bug of course - but every time, I upload the map into the ECU I get a number of knocks counted. The engine can be running or not, it makes no difference. The cells in the maps are also marked as knocking (if turned on). I have to reset knocks in the knock warning panel and...

Re: Injection time suddenly dropping at about 3000 RPM but without effects

Oh, that's interesting. I didn't know that.
I guess it injects 1+4 then 2+3, then 1+4 and so on and the "unused" fuel sits there and "waits" until the second injection comes and the intake vale opens.

Thank you!

Injection time suddenly dropping at about 3000 RPM but without effects

Can anybody explain this logs to me? I don't understand what happens at the marked spot. Injection time dropping 1.png Injection time dropping 2.png The log shows a full throttle low to high RPM run in 2nd gear of a CA18DET with a GT2560R, 350Z MAF and 444cc injectors. After exiting the o2 closed lo...

Re: rb25 with R32 ECU load going off the map

Thanks. I managed to tune the map to match my new specs. (devide K, multiply TIM) But the questions I had are more related to how nistune works in theory than to simply get a proper result in the end. Maybe the reason is that I'm a software developer myself ;) It helps me understand how the differen...

Re: rb25 with R32 ECU load going off the map

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm not sure if this answeres all of my questions, but... I would think, that scaling the MAF sensor / K-CONST would lead to this: Stock: e.g. 1kg air / min --> 3V MAF sensor --> Load index 90. Larger MAF: 1kg air / min --> 2.5V MAF sensor --> Load index 90 (due to a scal...

Re: rb25 with R32 ECU load going off the map

Hi. I'm facing a similar problem after changing the MAF sensor. It's a CA18DET and I swapped the stock MAF sensor to the one taken from a VQ35DE (350Z). Performing the change in nistune, the K-CONST went from 183 to 504, causing my load to go off the map. I understand to reduce the Load Multiplier a...

Re: 2 Questions: Ignition at 10, and knock count working?

Hi and thanks for the detailed reply! Somehow I wasn't notified about your answer :( My idle switch is working fine. The "problem" in my case simply was the idle timing setting, which I couldn't find by searching for the value (10), because 16 stands for 0, so 10 was represented by 26. Now...

2 Questions: Ignition at 10, and knock count working?

Hello. I'm quite new to the whole NIStune thing, but I installed the Type1 board into my ECU by myself and got the software working fine on my Car-PC. I downloaded a ROM that's close to my specs and modified it for my setup and even did some mapping and tuning on it. The car runs better than with th...
