Re: Launch control
Just thought I'd mention that I have got Launch control working on the RNN14 stock ECU in the UK here too. Tried it yesterday on a 400hp GTi-R nearly ripped my head of on the launch

Affects fuel cut on over run, cant see it affecting timing.

Yep may have been that too. In fact probably more likely so.

Re: Pics - How to spot a Z32 AFM copy
Couldn't agree more. I had major issues recently only with really careful logging and producing graphs did I realise that the engine wasn't reading load correctly, it turned out the 'new' Nissan afm was in fact a fake Chinese unit. Exactly the same as skyline_stu posted above. AVOID AT ALL COSTS THE...

Re: sr timing figures advice
Flat is often good, not bad. I mapped a SR20VE today. It has an almost totally flat torque curve. On the road it felt not very exciting as it was so smooth, but there was the most area under the torque curve this way, and hence most available power at any given point as you can see here: http://www....

Just also thought check that the maf voltage engine off is about 0.5v or so.

Re: sr timing figures advice
That looks like a pretty retarded light load area on that map. Say in the load areas between 30-63. Although you will not be able to accurately map that on the road since you'll never likely get knock (where there is not enough boost made) and your arse dyno (!) will not notice 2-3 hp in those areas...

Re: ECU Rom conversion to allow another Distributor signal type.
That's great cheers Adam, I'll see if i can find you some pics. Its a turbo conversion the customer carried out and one I have been working with for a few years. Started of as a perfectly reliable 1.4 turbo then he got the itch for more power killed a few engines and ended up with a 1.6 producing so...

Re: AFR changes when things heat up - one for the gurus
That would be my ideal solution, but often the cars aren't with me long and getting it on the ramp to do this kind of work can in reality take a couple of hours. I usually ask that the owner would get them fitted before they arrive, makes my life easier at least!

Re: Massive overfuelling at idle
Maf voltage looks way to high. What maf and where is it in the pipework in relation to the turbo, and do you have a dump valve or similar that is not a dual valve type that may be open at idle?

Re: ECU Rom conversion to allow another Distributor signal type.
Interesting so only Europe had the 5 slit GA/CG timing wheel? skyline_stu and Adam, just to be absolutely clear this distributor came from an Aus N15 GA16DE engine? I will need to change the whole distributor, not just the wheel as those have a two wire output where as the UK GA16 N15 has a single o...

Re: Taking the plunge and mapping my own + license Q
old engine never had any faults at all apart from datascan picking up the fueltemp problems but running and driving I couldn't tell it had a different ecu. fuel temp affects starting the car with the Z32 on RB25. you need to use a resistor 2K ohms from memory between fuel temp line and ground to ma...

Love the new changes.. I had people saying to me they dont need to buy it as they can keep reloading it, I found this most annoying. Re Fordys comments, computers are excessively powerful these days. Plenty enough and more from even the most basic machine you can buy. Even my 9 year old laptop will ...
