Re: Timing issues

I adjusted my timing gears yesterday and had to reset the ignition timing. Reported timing via nistune in both idle and in the main map match my timing light. But my Idle/Decel and Idle/Decel Neutral maps are 5 degrees high in filtered view. (says 15, nistune reports 10) I honestly haven't touched t...

Re: Pics - How to spot a Z32 AFM copy

The MAF I have now has N62 etched in the circuit board pattern under the copper shielding. I'm good and legit for now but I wanted to expand my knowledge... I know JECS was the original MFR What other brands can we trust? Bosch should be good right? What about Delphi? The z31 units run about $100 ne...

Re: Changed injectors, MAF Translation?

New housing is the same ID as the factory housing (2.83") Trying to reduce the stock housing and have it end up the length I need was getting too troublesome so I just cut the mounting flange and electronics box off of and put them on my own custom reducer tube... Add some black paint and some ...

Re: Who's put Honeycomb in the intake? (MAF Straighter)

Good to know, I think I will do it since my new N62 does not have any screens and I have not found any realistic negatives in my searches about honeycomb.

Re: Changed injectors, MAF Translation?

UPDATE: Got a spare z32 MAF to play with, I got a deal because the housing was drilled and screens were missing... won't matter anyway. I hooked it up and tested it today. "Chang MAF" worked pretty good and the unit peaked at 3.38v on a trace. Instead of a complete re-tube I'm going to cut...

Who's put Honeycomb in the intake? (MAF Straightener)

I've been seeing honeycomb air straighteners come up a lot lately. I've never run one and I'm not sure If I should... My N60 MAF comes from a factory air box. There will be a top-mount supercharger in my future and I will probably switch to N62 for draw thru boost. Would they yield any benefit to th...

Re: Changed injectors, MAF Translation?

Interesting, sounds like this could get challenging. So I'm thinking of running a trace against a flat fuel map with my old MAF and then again with the re-tube and make changes until they match? Does that work? I figure that would rule out cell averaging as a variable. I did some digging and found o...

Re: Changed injectors, MAF Translation?

I was certain It would need adjustment after re-tubing but will the curve change dramatically or just need shifting? I'm hoping the Curve will be similar and just need shifted a little. Dimensionally the other MAF was not what I thought it was and I do not have the capability to extract the correct ...

Re: Changed injectors, MAF Translation?

Google is telling me that "afh70-16" is also found on the SR20ve MAF.
I'm hoping this means I may already have a working MAF table for this MAF...

Re: Changed injectors, MAF Translation?

No advice? I'm guessing not a lot of people have had to mess with this map. I tried moving the MAF Translation numbers a little bit but I didn't get good results. This will take some time so maybe I should hold off until I get my final plumbing configured.... For the time being, timing seems to be c...

Re: Timing issues

This is in reference to Reported timing in the consult window view vs actual timing. But I guess you're right, that modifier line would affect the map view and not the consult view. It says [RAW] on the top of the Idle map window(I don't see a drop down for filtered views) and the reported timing St...
