Re: CA18DET, ticks over fine but will not rev, goes super lean.

Seems like the MAF may have been fried, retuned with standard MAF today and tickover/throttle response normal off load.....

Re: CA18DET, ticks over fine but will not rev, goes super lean.

Was mulling it over and noticed that the fuel maps for both the old ECU and the new one had the Lambda region displayed on the fuel map and that on the old map the values were way down below zero when displayed as filtered. Not sure why the 44F ECU has the Lambda region in it when the ECU does not s...

CA18DET, ticks over fine but will not rev, goes super lean.

Back once again head scratching, on the back end of popping the head last year after a coolant hose split and then in the middle of repairing the head shearing a bolt on the engine and then frying the ECU welding a nut on the stud to get it out finally have the it running again. The old 39F ECU that...

Re: Replacement Narrowband Lamda sensors.

Tried running with the Lucas LEB 123 universal fit lambda again and yes it is way off, ironically seems to react in the opposite way to the way it should... My assumption is that the polarity on the heater wires is irrelevant on these as they are both the same colour so that would not be a source fo...

Re: Replacement Narrowband Lamda sensors.

Well all round progress is good, still have Lambda issues but other than that all seems good, having to drive with the lambda switched off. Have Got the Wideband working again, seems the second com port being open was stopping it from connecting or saving my config settings. That crash log I sent yo...

Re: Replacement Narrowband Lamda sensors.

Still fighting the battle at the moment, just trimmed 3mm off the thread bushing to make sure the proximity of the tip is totally clear from obstruction as it appears to function okay some of the time then under very light cruise it seems to stop working. Wideband is still not working with the nistu...

Re: S13 CA18Det Fuel cut at 15 psi?!?

What com port should it be on? Yeah if I unplug the unit it disappears from the list, I can change the com port as it appears in the windows config.

Re: Replacement Narrowband Lamda sensors.

Yeah I haven't got the PLX wideband working with Nistune at the moment so the log would not show the afr reading anyway. Screenshot was for the reading in the Consult window. of .44 volts, during that period of running the afrs were fluctuating between 16/19 to 1 whilst the narrow band reading was a...

Replacement Narrowband Lamda sensors.

Has anyone else had issues with getting a replacement Narrowband Lamda sensor for their CA18DETS or other engine that may use the same sensor. Nissan no longer make them or seems to be able to supply. Have had to replace mine for the first time recently and am having problems with replacements, the ...

Re: S13 CA18Det Fuel cut at 15 psi?!?

Just tried connecting without the ECU to run the wideband independently, yeah the normal log seems to work fine the number of available channel is less than it used to be but guessing that is software development? The lead I am using is homemade as per the link on here somewhere, have two of them an...

Re: S13 CA18Det Fuel cut at 15 psi?!?

Yeah running the latest version, didn't seem to log any faults first time round have 4 logs now, 2 attached the other 2 are too big so will email them through. Also anyone recommend an aftermarket Lamda sensor for this engine. Cannot source genuine and currently have three aftermarket ones that do n...

Re: S13 CA18Det Fuel cut at 15 psi?!?

Right, believe both those logs should have it, debugging on. It seemed to knock out the ecu connection trying to connect to the wideband hence the two files. Tried changing the ports and aux 4 with both the afr1 and 2 files imported as csv files. When I open the file it goes back to the menu config ...

Re: S13 CA18Det Fuel cut at 15 psi?!?

Yeah will use the log to try and see what is killing the the wideband connection but yeah it is the PLX imfd one touch setup so daisy chained sensors to the single digital display. Previously with EGT, afr and boost chained it would always always crash the narrowband so I seperated the AFR from the ...

Re: S13 CA18DET Fault codes with no apparent faults?!?

Just been playing in my mind that it appears to have been even worse since the head was changed.... Had to change the fuel rail as well to fitted the different manifold inlets, checked fuel pressure and at 45 psi. Sure when I setup the car after rebuild with the old fuel rail it was 38/40 psi so thi...
