is there any problems with not running a speed sensor?
I had a CA in a Datsun 1600, and swapped the electronic speed sensor out for a cable one.
would this mean that the ECU will never cut fuel on decel?
other than economy....any problems with that?

We've just got a Nissan Z18ET running on CA18 ECCS gear in the last week or so!
It runs pretty smooth on stock CA18 maps, but were gonna stick NIStune into it in the next couple of weeks 8)

This is a copy of what he wrote on another forum: Well sorted CAS mounting, made no difference. When i turn the CAS slowly by hand i get spark, but when i spin it quickly, also by hand, it stops, so........ it is rpm dependent, almost like the ECU or ignitor module aren't able to handle it once the ...

yeah, thats along the lines of what I was thinking. He has played with an oscilliscope, and I think he said he was not getting any signal from the ECU from the IGN signals for those cylinders. however, they do fire if you spin the CAS by hand, and also when the engine is cranking, but stop going aft...

Engine running on 2 cylinders....

Hey Guys, I know this isnt directly a nistune topic....but once we get it running, we will be tuning it with nistune! I have a mate that has installed a CA18DET ECU, loom, and sensors e.t.c. onto an old Z18ET ( single cam EFI turbo Nissan engine ). He is using all the CA18 bits, inc injectors coil p...

I found the pin-out diagram that I was thinking of.

It says pin number 17, is "Jet pulse monitor (T1 Monitor)"

It goes directly from the ECU to the check connector

I dont know how its done, someone else figured out how to relocate stuff in the stock bin, to allow for the 64point VQ map.
its in the code, so I have this code saved as my base code, so any VQ map I use, has space for the large VQ map.

I just sent Matt my bin file with this code in it.

you are able to relocate stuff in the code, to allow the use of the full 64point VQ maps.
I have this setup on my NISTUNE board.

I have one Pocket Romulator for sale, was using this with my CA18DET for a long time, and also tuned a mates RB25DET (with RB20 ecu) with it.

works perfectly fine, But I have sold my car that had the CA18DET, and no longer have any use for it.

cheers,
unless it saved logs without me turning it on, then it will have to wait till I have another engine to play with.
