Re: Warm up Timing

Lastly, once I got rolling there was knocking whenever I got on the throttle. Nistune was reporting 55 degrees any time the throttle was open. I loaded known good .bins and nothing changed. Turned the engine off for 10 seconds and restarted and everything seemed normal. Bad write requred a restart?...

Re: Increasing Boost - the best way to handle TP

Just a quick note on TP sacles, there is a pretty good write up in here about scaling and how to make it most functional. But in a nutshell what I have done is gentle idle to redline pull while running a trace and watching a vac gauge and not let it dip below 13-15 HG. This is your light load zone. ...

Re: Warm up Timing

UPDATE: Today before starting I zeroed those 3 maps. And then made changes from there. The only one that made a difference was "Idle Timing Offset Warm (temp)" It says: "temp" "-40" "Deg BTDC" "20" Taking the 20 down to zero got rid of my cold advance. I left it up to 5 before the engine was too war...

AAC Valve Behavior

M30 ECU (for automatic trans) 5speed manual is being used This has been a small thing that has been going on for years even before Nistune was installed. I'm just wondering if might be something in nistune that could change it. Whenever the engine comes down to idle, especially after cruising for a ...

Warm up Timing

M30 ECU I want to start looking into this issue I've noticed the other day. I only get one chance per day (right before work) to observe but it doesn't seem like I can change the amount of advance added to warm up. I looks like at least 10 degrees is added to my idle timing and I don't know what to ...

Re: Timing issues

Nothing has changed since 2018 with the above change If you see a difference, try adding to the address file IDLE_TIMING_MAP_OFFSET=5 That will add '5' to filtered view. Let me know if that fixes it, and I can update the address file Thanks Matt, Until this week I literally haven't touched timing s...

Re: Timing issues

I adjusted my timing gears yesterday and had to reset the ignition timing. Reported timing via nistune in both idle and in the main map match my timing light. But my Idle/Decel and Idle/Decel Neutral maps are 5 degrees high in filtered view. (says 15, nistune reports 10) I honestly haven't touched t...

Re: Pics - How to spot a Z32 AFM copy

The MAF I have now has N62 etched in the circuit board pattern under the copper shielding. I'm good and legit for now but I wanted to expand my knowledge... I know JECS was the original MFR What other brands can we trust? Bosch should be good right? What about Delphi? The z31 units run about $100 ne...

Re: Changed injectors, MAF Translation?

New housing is the same ID as the factory housing (2.83") Trying to reduce the stock housing and have it end up the length I need was getting too troublesome so I just cut the mounting flange and electronics box off of and put them on my own custom reducer tube... Add some black paint and some road ...

Re: Who's put Honeycomb in the intake? (MAF Straighter)

Good to know, I think I will do it since my new N62 does not have any screens and I have not found any realistic negatives in my searches about honeycomb.

Re: Changed injectors, MAF Translation?

UPDATE: Got a spare z32 MAF to play with, I got a deal because the housing was drilled and screens were missing... won't matter anyway. I hooked it up and tested it today. "Chang MAF" worked pretty good and the unit peaked at 3.38v on a trace. Instead of a complete re-tube I'm going to cut the last ...

Who's put Honeycomb in the intake? (MAF Straightener)

I've been seeing honeycomb air straighteners come up a lot lately. I've never run one and I'm not sure If I should... My N60 MAF comes from a factory air box. There will be a top-mount supercharger in my future and I will probably switch to N62 for draw thru boost. Would they yield any benefit to th...
