TTP Min/Max

Tuning for BOV vent to atmosphere on a suck through MAF.

I understand I need to adjust ttp min and ttp max tables to a certain range where it doesn't affect conditions under load, but doesn't allow for afr to spike after bov activation.

How do I know what the current TP is when playing a log?

Re: Darker blue highlight on squares at end of column (fuel

Thanks Matt. Do most people just disable it? On my Type3 board for ka24de I do notice there is a tick box to disable it.

Darker blue highlight on squares at end of column (fuel map)

Upgraded to recent version of Nistune and did a number of changes to the car. Now I see sometimes the last column on the fuel map will have squares highlighted sometimes with a dark blue highlight? This is different the the normal 4 squares being highlighted where the ecu is referencing the map. Wha...

Re: Idle Issue with Q45 Throttle Body

There are a few maps that deal with the idle target rpm. (I'll look them up when I get home.) Make all of those maps target a low rpm (like 200-500rpms) and make sure you set your idle above that. Right now it could be 1 of 2 things. 1. At idle q45 throttle body is just so large for small amount of ...

Re: Nistune 0.10 Release

Matt, It would be very useful to have Nistune running and logging in one-click (... Desktop shorcut) for a given configuration (consult & wideband links already set up, consult registers already selected .....) instead of having to do each time: _launch nistune _connect consult _connect wideban...

Re: KA24DE Temp. Sensor

80 is the reading you'd get if it was unplugged. When I boot bench my ECU the temp sensor reading slowly climbs to 80 even though there is no temp sensor. Makes sense for the engine ecu to act that way in case of temp sensor reading failure failure, the care will just be hard to start cold but shoul...

Re: Timings affect on AFRs?

The timing will not affect air drawn in... Also what about the timing stabilization table, or the fact that when you adjust your timing manually at idle your rpm changes? What would cause the idle rpm to change when adjusting timing unless timing affects the amount of air the engine cylinders draw ...

Re: Timings affect on AFRs?

The timing will not affect air drawn in...the engine makes more power from proper timing by more effciently burning the fuel increasing cylinder pressure and forcing the piston down with more force. NA engines aren't at 100% VE all of the time (not even most of the time.) Peak power is peak VE, so ...

Re: Timings affect on AFRs?

Ignition Timing seems to affects exhaust oxygen levels, because it directly affects the combustion process. The mixture is actually the same, what is changing is the Oxygen Sensors ability to read anything other than oxygen. Air isn't drawn into a piston engine. It is pushed by Current Atmospheric ...

Re: Timings affect on AFRs?

Number 2 is wrong....at any given load, an engine can only pull so much air, it's a constant other than atmospheric conditions. It says nothing about load. If timing isn't optimal in a cell (too retarded), then wouldn't making timing optimal in that cell produce more power and therefore suck in mor...

Re: PC for tuning + gauges

I've used a full size laptop, but now I use a simple $230 1.66ghz intel atom netbook like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834157854&cm_re=netbook_refurbished-_-34-157-854-_-Product I love it! Great battery life, and it's small enough I don't mind hauling everywhere, a...

4) switching off the engine without having disconnected first: Wait that worked at some point? I just never do that.. :-) (Disconnect first) Matt, 10.4 indeed fixed the average view on the afr tracer. Only bug I've noticed in 10.4 is that I use to move the red line on the log player to where I want...

Re: Nistune 0.10 Release

I formated my netbook drive, and reinstalled 0.9.14.22 And to my surprise when I try to connect to the wideband it still crashes. I've tried 2 different serial adapters and they don't even have to be connected. It just crashes. This is with Innovative MTS. Is that "re-release" not the same...

Re: Nistune 0.10 Release

I'm having same problems. I downgraded to the last stable release, and then whenever I clicked to turn on my wb02 nistune crashed. (Old program was probably trying to use wbo2 data from new release?) Then I said ok lets try new version again, but with new versio now rpm show up as 0 or intermittentl...

Timings affect on AFRs?

I'm just starting to really learn how to tune, and I've read conflicting information on timings affect on AFR. Some stuff I've read says raising timing shouldn't have any affect on the AFR of a given cell. Other things say that raising timing, will lean out the cell where timing is being raised for ...
