RB30 Dwell Table Questions

Post by RB30-POWER »

Hey Guys/Matt :D

With the dwell table, its mapped according to rpm in the software/adr file.

In looking at the factory manual, the table should be mapped against battery voltage, increased dwell/charge time at lower voltages?

Its just the chart w/line graph look identical to the dwell vs battery volt chart, so thinking this might actually be what the table represents.

Im not sure how its scaled, because looking at the factory information, 2800rpm should represent 10V approx.

Any thoughts, can scan the page if you don't have this at all Matt, I think you would however.

Regards
Mick

The VLT address file needs updating... I updated the R31/Z31s ones but must have forgot this. Try changing the entry to the following

from
DWELL_DUTY,&H2F60,16,1,16,1,Coil time
to
DWELL_TIME,&H2F60,16,1,16,1,Coil time

The dwell duty is a separate table which is vs RPM. I've found it on the 1988 Z31 but not hunted down on the others yet

okay in addition to the following. update address files:

Z31 1986 NA/R31 NA/VLT
DWELL_TIME,&H2F60,16,1,16,1,Coil time
DWELL_DUTY,&H2F70,16,1,16,1,Coil duty

Z31 1986-1989 other
DWELL_TIME,&H3B50,16,1,16,1,Coil time
DWELL_DUTY,&H3B60,16,1,16,1,Coil duty

updates for the Z31 1984-1985
TEMP_CONV,&H1F90,32,1,32,1,Coolant conversion
DWELL_TIME,&H1FA0,16,1,16,1,Coil time
DWELL_DUTY,&H1FB0,16,1,16,1,Coil duty

from the looks of it the table is 16 bytes length for duty. However I noticed on Z32 that this is 32 bytes.
