Hello, my name is Andrew.

I have an '87 Nissan 200sx (s12) with a vg33e swap, running an 86 z31 ecu and maf. I just go to installing the NisTune board and have had some issues getting started.

Both lights on the ecu stay on when the ignition switch is on, and the ecu will not connect to my laptop, saying "Cannot connect to consult"

I have a friend coming by next week to help me sort this, but he has little experience with the NisTune as well. I'd like to sort out as much as I can before he comes by to help out.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Installation issues surpasses my knowledge, so maybe others can comment also.

Did you do the soldering by yourself or someone else did this for you?

Is the VG33E the same as a VG30E? I don't see it listed in the supported Roms Pack List.

My friend who is an Electrical Engineering grad did the work for me. I'm using s12 intake manifold and wiring harness, and works successfully with the stock z31 ecu.

There is some sort of issue with the install. Both lights on solid and engine not starting would mean the ECU is not running its program

Refer here:
http://nistune.com/docs/Installation_an ... ostics.pdf

Check the original chip in the ECU to see if that still runs okay firstly

I'll check that out Matt, this ecu ran the car before, only issue was fuel pump, but it's hard wired now.
