S14a SR20 IAT sensor?

Post by MomentFD »

I haven't had an IAT sensor since doing my swap. What's it's role in Nistune management? Should I work towards getting one in?

Thanks guys

There is no IAT sensor on the S14A models?

Is that a statement Matt? I wasn't sure about the physical IAT sensor, I got a motor set imported.

How can that be anyway? Mass calculation is the end all be all that already includes air density change due to temp?

That is a statement, and the question mark is confusion why you thought this model has IAT. I know for certain it doesnt as I've wired several different SR (and CA18) ECUs to run in my S14A 200SX 8)

Only the GTR models have IAT sensor which is used to offset timing in the ECU

A look at how a Mass Airflow Meter works shows there is a hot wire and ambient temp sensor inside. The ambient air temp is offset from the hot wire (which is cooled down as airflow passes it). The more current the hotwire requires to keep the current temperature, the higher the reported voltage used by the ECU to calculate load (TP)
