Will Nistune allow me to control my fans??

Post by meet07 »

I wired in a relay from my factory 1989 240sx thermostatic switch located in the lower radiator hose to my 440 flex-a-lite fans. I wanted to see exactly what temperature does this switch activate at. The fans cut on at 95 degrees celsius....Thats a little high for my taste. I considered getting a universal external radiator fan switch but thought "what if I could use nistune somehow to control my fans" Is there a way??

Car is a 1989 240sx with a rb25. CX Racing Radiator with 440 flexalite fans/shrouds.

Thanks

Coolant doesn't boil under pressure until over 110degC depending on your pressure and coolant mixture.

There is a 'way' but it involves modifying the code to make the temperature parameters available outside the ECU code space (or allow access to modify ECU code area which currently I dont allow for anti corruption protection). Obviously would require reprogramming the code and then the board if I was to do this

Thanks Matt

In S14 EDM we usually have 75F00 and 75F01 and on S14a 82F09 & 82F06(with NATS) we did use 80F00 JDM image to remove NATS (We didn't have still any problem and both cars are highly modified) .

So You can use JDM S14 image like 74F01 for fan control modification and
S15 JDM image for EDM S14a as You already suggest to use it when removing NATS.

Also we have one B13 SR20DE 70Y05 swap in N15 with S14 DET internals and GT28RS so it would be great to have fan control on it.

Hi Matt
I hope that crashing issue with 0.10.xx is solved so You will be able to do some work on fan control?
Up North summer has started full scale ... I did make switch on almost all customer cars but I would be much happier not to rely on human factor...

Getting there. Crashing problems seem to be fixed, just some log player updates still to go

Bump, this would be a nice feature to have. I currently have a manual fan switch wired in, but obviously this isn't the most efficient way to keep things cool.
