Odd timing drop!

Post by SSS »

Hey guys,

I'm running gabe's EC3b bin in my U12 sohc ecu at the moment, and i have been experiencing an odd problem.

When the car is in neutral, idling, timing according to consult is 25 deg.
When i put the car in any gear at idle, the timing drops to 10 deg.

Both my high/low timing maps are identical. Car drives perfectly.

I've attached the bin (his generic download), anyone care to shed any light on why the huge timing drop?
He based this program on the auto base, the next EC release is being done on the manual ecu base.

I've pm'd gabe as well but he seems to have gone awol again.

Thoughts?

I'm not sure if this is the case but it sounds like the ecu might use a seperate timing table for neutral and non-neutral idle timing on the automatic. If you can find the non-neutral table I would imagine you could make it match the neutral table and get rid of the timing change.

that sounds about right there are neutral vs non-neutral tables similar to the enrichment ones for ignition timing. they are probably there in the ecu but not yet added to the address file
