getting started questions

Post by lynchfourtwenty »

ok so im a super newb an i did some searchin around but couldnt really find the info i was lookin for, sorry if im retarded an it was obvious..

any how i got my ecu today, put it in the car, (disconnected battery first ofcourse)

also i installed the plms consult usb cable per the instructions..

then i opend nistune, plugged the cable in, loaded the b13 91-92 adr file and hit consult..

it did some stuff then connected, a thing popped up and i hit ok..

so it runs a little funky but honestly i think it has something to do with me changin my tps yesterday an my base idles an messed up..

i can open the consult gauges an they seem to be working, tps/temp/rpm/ect/ect

but when i click the fuel map table the thing comes up and all the boxes are red and when i give it a little gas nothin happens like in the youtube video i watched where the 4 greyish boxes would move around as the guy gave it some throttle.. the timing table is all green an same thing, the 4 grey boxes stay in the bottom left corner..

any ideas on what im doin wrong, and again sorry if its been talked about a million times..

EDIT: car is a 91 se-r with sr20ve swap, type 3 board in the stock se-r ecu.. using DE maf..

open up the bin file, then look on the menu bar next to where loaded the bin file u will see 2 arrows orange and blue pointing different directions. click on that then chose icon on left that one loads the nistune from the laptop to the ecu. the other is from the ecu to the laptop.

There is some documentation you can download that will walk you through the setup and uses.

Yeah it's stock VE bin. I think it was tuned on the dyno but double check your A/F readings.

Isn't there a 2nd bung on the SSauto header? I had mine in the downpipe near the cat when I had my SSauto header. You can take out the stock one and just splice the narrow band output wire from the Zeitronix to stock ecu and all will be good. I found the sensors on Amazon for like $53 since they are OEM VW 02 sensors.

ah ok, sounds good!

i have the hotshot header on still :( reason is because i have an aftermarket cat thats welded on with no flange.. so had to have my header welded on.. waitin to save up alittle cash so i can take her to the exhaust shop an have a flange welded on so that i can hook up the ssac header w/ the flange.. dont wanna make the same mistake twice ya know.. lol
