z31 vg30e maf translation

Post by tht_z31 »

what's up everyone, the other day I went to Datalog just for fun. when I got back noticed the MAF translation flashed red at 4500rpm wot 5.10v MAF. I assume that means I'm exceeding the MAF limit, but when I open the MAF translation I see 5.10v or 5100mv is only 35.5% and 100% is 6620mv. This got me really confused cause I always thought the z31 ecu can't read MAf inputs higher than 5.12v. I started comparing maps and saw 86 turbo MAF translation maxes out at 5120mv while 87 and 89 maps go to 6620mv. Is there a reason why the 87 turbo map exceeds the 5.12v limit? It really got me stumped cause I feel like my car would be running like garbage if the MAF translation table was off, but it runs fine, and fuel trims are in between +10 -10.
I appreciate the help

You found a glitch (of sorts) in the software

You see most MAFs are 0-5V but the R31/VLT/Z31 are 2-7V

There is a fixed limit for condition checking in the software, and that is hard coded to 5V. We will need to put in a fix to check the vehicle type so if it is set to 2-7V MAF that the range is increased before raising the warning
