Some Consult 14-pin (chinese) interfaces are wrongly wired:
you may have the HICAS light on after a while.
Symptoms:
1) the steering becomes heavy very quickly after cold start
2) after a while the HICAS light comes on.
In fact, speed signal (coming from the dash cluster) is available on some Consult ports and this signal (pin 10) is wired to GND by the Consult (chinese) interface !
Solution: remove the wire in the interface.
Consult Pinout:
1 Blue Data from interface to ECU pin 21 (RX)
2 White Data from ECU to interface pin 22 (TX)
3 X
4 "L3 TCS/ABS ? ABS diagnostic mode
5 X
6 Black/white Diagnostic mode input to ECU pin 47 (CHK)
7 Green/white +12 V Ignition switch (IGN)
8 Black Ground (GND)
9 Orange/white Clock from interface to ECU pin 31 (CLK)
10 Yellow/white ? Speed signal from dash cluster (SP)
11 Black/white ? Power steering solenoid signal from HICAS ECU (PS)
12 X (SCO?)
13 X (SCI?)
14 X (DT?)
