Soft and Hard Cut limiters Incorrectly Labeled?

Post by exxon »

I noticed looking through my R32 RB20DET maps, that all of them seem to have the Soft and Hard cut labels reversed? Maybe i am not understanding something here.

All ROMs show a HARD cut of 7550, and a SOFT cut of 7800. Those labels should be reversed should they not? Soft cut pulls timing to slow rpm rise, and hard cut cuts injectors.

I have the latest ROMs and Nistune versions.

Could you please clarify? Thanks!

I've been meaning to go through all the RPM limits and rename RPM limit 1,2,3 etc to the correct labels. Will check the RB20 out also.

Soft cut should recover after hitting the cut whilst hard cut will fuel cut the engine completely until it just about goes back to idle

Thanks Matt!

I'll adjust just by the numbers, ignoring the labels.

I can only see/set the "Soft Rev Limit Stage 1", where do I find the Hard Cut?

Which car? We were talking HCR32 here which has soft/hard. If you are talking another car like BNR32 then it might not have both limiters defined (from what I found anyway)

I've updated the address file (soft rev limit should be less than hard). There is a counter which expires before it lets it rev again whilst hard cut will require off throttle to basically recover

I could not find a soft cut for the z32 ECU. I've renamed soft to hard in the address definitions for this for the next version
