RB20DET NISTUNE ECU. WILL IT WORK WITH A TYPE 2 RB25DET???

As the title states. i snagged a rb25det on the cheap.

so all my rb20 stuff is for sale. question is are the 20 and 25 pins the same?? and somehow can i make this ecu work for the new motor?? or do i need to start fresh. i looked on avp's website and can't find the boards for a r33 gts skyline(which one is it)??

Get a Z32 ecu then get the board reprogramed to work with the Z32 ecu. If you use the RB20 ecu you wont have the vct.

Sounds like he already has an RB20 ECU there. If you wanted to use that then Type 2 board with HCR32_For_RB25_V4 image can be programmed on it (simulates the TPS idle switch in this firmware)

However you would then need an aftermarket VCT window trigger switch still for the VCT solenoid

yep that will work. fine. However you cannot use Z32/R32 ECU with an R33 RB25DET auto trans model. Kick back and gear shifts dont work properly

well i originally needed a z32 ecu. i first got a 93+ one that needed a type 3 board. my installer informed me that more guys have tuner experience with type 2 boards than type 3.

so i sourced out a 90-90 ecu and sent it out to him.



this was from a n/a 5spd. so explain to me in detail, how do i load a rb25det file on this and make it work??

That is fine. Use the ENT file under ROM Pack/Type 2/ECR33/ENT/Z32_FOR_RB25_41P03_MT_v2.ent in the board and fit to this ECU
