I cant find a way to secure my laptop.

If you are doing it what size laptop are you using (mines a quite bulky 15", i was thinking of getting a 7" and securing it in the glovebox)

You can try this:
http://www.ultimate-netbook.co.uk/Unive ... __1528.htm

Or you can build/buy a CarPC.
Here ist an example: http://www.mini-box.com/VoomPC-2-Car-PC-Barebone-Intel
All you need further is a lcd touch screen monitor. But you have to read a lot and spend a lot of time to build up a good CarPC solution.

I recently bought an EeePC 900 for logging. Great little machine & because it has a solid state HDD it won't skip like a normal HDD.

I'm yet to make up a cradle for it, but it will basically involve some alloy panel, velcro stuck to the bottom & some small straps over the corners to hold the screen open. This is going in a track only car so vibration is a major problem. Also I found I couldn't read the screen easily in daylight as I intended to use it for gauges as well. Battery lasts up to 2 hours (screen dimmed & wireless off). Has a built in SD slot so you can log straight to it & then read it on a bigger laptop/PC.
