HCR32 ECU for RB25 with VCT output

In the attachment there are two files for HCR32 ECUs used for RB25

These updates provide VCT control for the HCR32 ECU to control the RB25 VCT output using the same code as in the Z32 ECU for the VCT solenoid on the RB25 engine.

This effectively uses the R32 ECU without the need for external window switches etc

AC out removes the air conditioner output relay (useful in applications such as transplants or drift cars) to control the VCT solenoid

LED out utilises the spare (green) LED output on earlier R32 ECUs. The part numbers should be MEC-R1XX or 23710-04Uxx where there is a spare LED output

These files also contain the FP1 firmware for flex fuel, launch control and injector adjustment. Files have been bench tested for correct VCT operation. At this stage they are in test release until vehicle tested (will be doing this week)

okay, forgive me matt, but just trying to get this straight. so with these maps I can use a rb20det ecu with a vvti rb25det neo now? and this map can control the vvti? I thought the rb20 ecu didn't have the internal driver to make this happen??

I found the output port pins on the HD63140 pulse processor chip in this ECU. I also then found the associated memory locations to drive the ports. The R32 ECUs are lacking on spare IO but I found some things:

23710-04Uxx ECUs have an unused GREEN LED driver which is able to run a solenoid (A31 Cefiro has this LED installed, which I can remove and use for VCT also)

23710-11Uxx ECUs can allow us to hijack the Air conditioning compressor driver and run a solenoid through that (it does not have a driver connected to the output of the GREEN LED port on the HD63140 chip)

Please note that for VCT and AFM to function properly you must use the V5 maps (which come in the ENT when you sync from the board, or in the _maps.bin file which I'll include for these vehicles in this release)

There is a new low AFM voltage parameter added to the software. Using older tunes without these maps defined will max out the parameters

Some clarification when using this setup.

1. Make sure you install ROM Pack 2.8 and Nistune 1.2.14 (latest)
2. There has been some renaming with the files (ECU part # with feature packs end with 'F')
So use the part number 11U0F / 74L0F as per file names described in posts above
3. Program the ENT file into the board
4. Nistune will automatically detect the feature pack loaded in the board now and load the appropriate address file. You should see the VCT parameters inside Nistune with the feature pack loaded.
5. Sync the sync from the board to the ECU
6. Maps files matching these are here:

A31 Cefiro ECU:
Type2\ECR33_RB25\HCR32_FOR_RB25_11U00_74L0F_MT_TPS_VCT_FP_maps.bin

HCR32 RB20 ECU:
Type2\ECR33_RB25\HCR32_FOR_RB25_11U0F_MT_TPS_VCT_FP_maps.bin

7. These files only contain the maps (not the feature pack firmware). Feature pack firmware cannot be burnt to EPROM!

Just so I understand this correctly, if I add VCT control to 23710-11U00 I lose the AC?

There is an update for the 11U00 ECUs now to use the Fuel Pump idle control output instead to run the VCT output. Most people upgrade their fuel pump so it only runs from the relay. Means this output is spare and available
