1990 z32 ecu in a 1994

Post by rick88ss »

I have a 1990 Z32 5 speed non turbo ecu with Nistune and Feature Pack card installed. Will it work in a 1994 Z32 5 speed Twin Turbo?

That is not an ideal combination, unless the car will be used for racing/track purposes only.
The NA ECU has some (hardware) functions missing in comparison to a TT ECU (eg. no 2 speed AC fan control and no WG sol.valve control)

Better is to try to find an early (S1 or S2) TT ECU.

Thanks for the info. Are those the only 2 things that are different? If you use a boost controller will it still matter?

No,there are couple more things
Eg. FPCU (fuelpump controller) management is different also.
running a NA ECU in a TT will cause the fuelpump to run at full speed (noisy) most of the time
But if you have removed the FPCU and are running an aftermarket pump, then this is not a problem.

only if the original wg solenoids have been removed or bypassed completely.
in other words, the boostcontroller solenoid(s) need to be connected directly to the wastegate actuators
