Z31 Nistune from 87-89 ECU into 84-87

I have a nistuned California Z31 ECU but my car is the older Z31, and thus I need to swap the Nistune board out and install it in the earlier ECU.

Is this a straight swap? or will the board need a reflash/firmware change to work in the older ECU?

It will not need a reflash into 1986-1987 ECU but earlier 1984-1985 it would

Later 1988-89 ECUs I believe use high impedance injectors but the 1986-87 ones dont. However check the O2 sensor compatibility on www.redz31.com in the ECU section
