Problem with Maf hp figures

Post by Neals »

Hello, i have a r32 gtr that I recently installed z32 mafs, 800cc injectors and gt2860 turbos. Also my first time using nistune and the learning curve has been interesting, for both me and my tuner. Regardless this is my issue, got nistune started up. Did the injector change which worked fine. Went to Maf change and it said there was no current Maf connected. Then when I chose the z32 from the menu and pressed half for r32 ecu it came up and said hp figures unavailable adjust k constant manually. Checking out the Maf translation table before I do anything with the Maf change is the same after. Nothing changes. Why isn't it seeing a current Maf installed even though it gives the correct voltages at idle?

Any help would be great at this point, thanks a million

Yeah, confirmed.

looks like a soft Bug.

if you don't choose half value GTR tick box it works fine. reports MAF correctly.

choose tick box half value and Nistune doesn't pickup the MAF table as anything regardless of MAF choice.

Nistune doesn't detect the MAF. It looks for a comparision of the MAF table against what it knows in its database to compare to.

Matt will need to work his magic here.

Please note that I don't browse the forums every single day. Email for next day response 8)

I don't see the issue here however

1. Load BNR32 RB26 address
2. Connect to ECU /download maps or load file
3. Operations > Resize injectors
4. Operations > Resize MAF

However when you do the resize (with the 'half' tickbox enabled) it will halve the Z32 300ZX scale for this particular ECU

The full size VQ maps are able to be detected, but any VQ map which is modified (including halving it) cannot be detected any longer by the software because it is not an exact match

You will still however (despite not being able to detect the MAF any longer) be able to use the MAF

To work around this it is necessary to capture the VQ map (at half the original size) and add this to the Documents\Nistune\VQ Maps folder

I've added the Z32 and R35 MAF VQ maps (in half size) along with updated definition so they display properly

Post the tune file here so I can open it here

Did you put those VQ map files (attached to previous post) in your Documents\Nistune\VQ Map folder?

Adjust your K/TIM until the AFRs are back to normal after doing the resize

Take a log with AFRs over the rev range to check your mixtures. Post updated tune and log file here to check over

Other thing is to go into cruise (closed loop operation) and look at FTS and FTL. When they are close to 0 then you have K in the right place
