Re: MAF compatibility question: HPX 05+ MAF (for Ford Musta

Is there any advantage to using the HPX in a suck through configuration? I would think that it would be less of a headache to adapt the OEM MAF to your 3" tube.

And when you say you couldn't get the offset right, are you referring to how deep the HPX inserts into the 2.5" tube?

Re: MAF compatibility question: HPX 05+ MAF (for Ford Musta

Matt were you able to get your HPX working in a 2.5" blow through configuration? I'm considering using two HPX's in my Z32...

Re: did I break it?

I installed a different ECU and it fired right up...so it isn't flooded. I'll retry the original ECU and see what happens...

Thanks

did I break it?

I was trying to tweak the injector multiplier on my Z with the type 3 board. Nothing seemed to be happening when I would tweak it up or down, so I entered an absurdly large injector multiplier and hit the "apply" button. The engine immediately died, and won't restart, even after returning ...

Wow, this still isn't fixed? I had a similar problem...got tired of messing with it.

I think Matt should offer a free "upgrade" to a type 2...trade in your type 3

Re: tuning guide for type 3 boards?

Thanks...I was wondering about those "crazy big values" in the timing map...it didn't occur to me that was where knock sensing was taking place

tuning guide for type 3 boards?

Is there a guide for tuning type 3 boards? It seems that the documentation available for download at nistune is more for type 2 boards. I'm confused about how to adjust fuel...I've heard that I should be adjusting the VE map instead of the fuel map? And what is the difference between RAW and FILTERE...

Re: AFR map trace seems to be broken

never mind...I figured it out. For whatever reason, Nistune no longer prompts you for which consult registries to select.

TP is no longer selected as default, which baffles the hell out of me. Sigh.

AFR map trace seems to be broken

It only puts AFR values in the far left column of the map...any tips as to what is wrong?

Re: Nistune 0.10 Release

Matt,

I haven't tried it myself yet, but it appears that the ability to read two LC-1's daisy chained is broken again:

Re: R34 02 feedback flags active on whole map, WHY?

Stock injection mutliplier = 288. Adjusted for 740 = 144 (ie half) Try disabling O2 feedback temp (set to 205 degC) and then see what AFRs are like and get this right first with any minor adjustments to Injection multiplier (so that it is 14.7 leanest at lowest point on the map) I tried setting the...

Re: R34 02 feedback flags active on whole map, WHY?

Cant turn it off on ECUs which have VE maps. Its on permanently and you use the VE map to trim the O2 feedback based on the alpha learn gauges Is there an instruction manual for tuning type 3 ecu's? I've never dealt with VE maps before What is puzzling is that my idle is rich, at about 11:0 AFR. Ch...

Re: Nistune 0.10 Release

Techedge is serial communications (RS232). What issues are you having with Innovate (apart from the look up tables?). These appear to be more accurate than the Techedge according to Pete. Zeitronix gauge looks like a feature packed wideband My LM-2 seems to be too sensitive to the quality of power ...

Re: Nistune 0.10 Release

Thanks Matt.

Out of curiosity, what do most people use for widebands with Nistune? I'm getting pretty damned frustrated with Innovate. The tech edge looks interesting, and is the only other wideband that allows free air calibration. Does it communicate with Nistune digitally or via analog?
