Re: Flex fuel z31 questions

Thanks for the quick response Matt. I can check the firmware on the board through nistune once consult connected, right? What would be a dead giveaway that I don't have the right firmware installed? My board is from 2010, so I have a feeling the firmware is outdated. I would most likely need to find...

Flex fuel z31 questions

So apparently nistune supports flex fuel for the z31, correct?. I'd love to add it on but I'm worried about injector control with 1000 cc+ injectors. Has anyone used nistune with e85 and what size injectors were you using and how much power? Also just to be spoon fed all I need is the flex fuel boar...

Re: HPX MAF Voltage Translation

I was just messing around with the HPX N1 Scaling and dialed it down to 30% and scaled in the 0-960 mV. The scale is much lower than the HPX set up.

Re: HPX MAF Voltage Translation

Here's my setup: Nistune Type 1 Board VG30ET - currently running on 87 address file (using the map you posted last year - need to hit no when it says map should be 86 address file from mismatch in ROM sync). 3" intercooler piping from outlet to 60mm throttle body 2.5" piping from turbo to ...

HPX MAF Voltage Translation

Have a 1985 Nissan Z31 running nistune on a 87 N/A ECU. I bought a HPX about 4 years ago and now I'm getting around to tuning the car. Is there a programming difference between the standard HPX (designed for Ford motors) and HPX - N1 (small block engines)? I see there is support in Nistune for the N...

Re: Map upload errors

Is there any logic to do the update to a ROM with feature pack or should I be fine with current base image? No need to overengineer something if not needed. This will be a 600+ RWHP tune on a VG30 though, so if there is some beneficial supplements to feature pack I could entertain it. Also given the...

Re: Map upload errors

Thanks, I'll give that a shot when I'm at the car next. Is it possible to update the chip without having to ship it to you or do you need special tools to load the updated ROM?

Re: Map upload errors

I was able to load a sync'd map finally into the ECU. I did this by trying every ROM file that would download all maps from ECU with no error and re-uploading that map as a base (I realized once there was a ECU ROM read address error it would erase that map from Nistune, so eventually once all the m...

Re: Map upload errors

The only situation where I can get the (L) next to the part number is exactly what is shown in the second screen shot, otherwise it says (U). If I select vehicle then choose 1987 z31 address file I'm able to upload and burn a map. I tried using 1987 address then uploading a 87 VG30 map from the ROM ...

Map upload errors

Hello, I've been using Nistune on my build over the past few years; haven't fully tuned the car yet. I've kept Nistune updated and only recently am I experiencing this issue that I believe is messing with my ability to tune properly. I've updated Nistune software and tried uploading a map to my ECU ...

Re: Problems with Nistune & Base Map

Talked with a Nistune owner today. I wasn't permanently writing changes to the ECU.

Problem should be fixed.

Re: Problems with Nistune & Base Map

I was trying to do a little research for my problem and I stumbled upon another question, which may be my original problem. I read this topic: http://forum.nistune.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1634&hilit=resync+maps+to+ECU I know we were talking about the images earlier, but let me get this strai...

Re: Problems with Nistune & Base Map

So I got Nistune working with my car and the O2 sensor still pluged in, awesome :D . Don't get your hopes up yet Matt though, because I'm still experiencing problems lol After fiddling with the maps a bit and uploading them to the ECU I was idling perfect at 14.7-15.2. After unplugging the NIStune E...

Re: Problems with Nistune & Base Map

So I have the same type of oxygen sensor as the Nistune ECU, but apparently they are different part numbers from Nissan. Believe this could be an issue Matt? I'll be home in a few days and I'll just unplug the sensor to see if it works as well.
