S15 SR20DE ECU (Possibly Autech) NIStune solutions?

Hi guys, A friend bought an S15 SR20DE engine package for his Datsun, it came with a modified ECU that does not look like it supports any form of NIStune board that I am aware of. It currently has a device that I am assuming (just from pics) works like an SAFC, but installed inside ECU case. Firstly...

Re: Lean Idle issue on S13 SR20DET, SARD 850cc and E85

In saying that, I dont think it was connected to my original issue, maybe contributing. I did the tests you suggested Matt but since have not had the problem come back. Unsure as to why at this stage, need to do some street testing once brakes are bled. K CONST was staying at 32800 at all times, and...

Re: Lean Idle issue on S13 SR20DET, SARD 850cc and E85

Found the problem I think.

CRANK SW is staying on all the time. Running a wiring specialties loom and I think Start Sw wire has been connected to IGN.

Changing cranking tables effects AFR's at all times as a result.

How very annoying.

Thanks for the reply.

Yep the tune is burnt. The K CONST is staying set to 32000, that's definitely not the issue.

Cheers,
Hayden

Lean Idle issue on S13 SR20DET, SARD 850cc and E85

Hey Guys, Having a strange issue that I've not come accross before with an S13 SR20DET running Nistune. Just finished putting the car together after a few months of building (engine has been installed into an MX32 Toyota Cressida). I have rubbed heads together with Andrew from Hyperdrive here in Per...

Re: Tomei Rytec & Nistune

Hey Matt, I know im probably dreaming but any progress with this? I had a chat with Andrew at Hyperdrive yesterday after he said to me he really felt MAP sensing is the last piece of the puzzle for NIStune. Then I noticed he had a couple of REYTEC's laying around. Thanks for the pics. If its like th...

Re: What ROM image to use?

Hey Hayden, 83Fxx ADM S14a is not a NATS ECU. I swap them around from car to car all the time. You may find that somebody has fitted a JDM PFC to it and, from memory, you need to swap the 2 CAS signals and move the fuel pump relay drive signal as they differ JDM/ADM. Probably easiest to just swap t...

Re: What ROM image to use?

Sorry to dredge up an old topic, but I have an issue with what I think is a NATS problem. I have an Aus Delivered S14A with a Power FC currently fitted, its otherwise stock bar bolt on's like exhaust & FMIC, Power FC is tuned for these mods & 14PSI. Stock AFM, Stock Fuel etc etc. It might be...

Re: Tomei Rytec & Nistune

Hey Matt,

Any news/updates with this? Been a few months now and the demand for a MAP sensed solution is still high... Its the only reason I see club members choosing Power FC Djetro over NIStune!

Cheers,
Hayden

Re: Tomei Rytec & Nistune

Hmmm interesting, you say the BNR32 one had consult disabled? If you read the Tomei user manual it depicts the "tuning cable" (looks an awful lot like your average consult cable) and connecting to the ECU to tune via the consult port. According to the manual, there is definitely tuning ava...

Re: Tomei Rytec & Nistune

PS, you were quite right about the eproms, does that affect real time tuning at all? Im 99% sure these are real time tunable through consult... Havent read through the manual though.

Re: Issues with starting after K changes

Hey Pete, Just wanted to clear this up, as after some final changes it ran sweet afterwards. Kept the K const at around 23000, once I started to go below 24000 it started to get very fiddly but in the end car ran and more importantly continued to start pretty sweet. I believe the guy who tuned it wa...

PS, If you want me to source one from Japan I can do this for you, we have a good relationship with Jesse Streeter he would be able to get me one and post it over no problemo.

Re: Tomei Rytec & Nistune

Hey Matt, Sorry for the late reply! I have been insanely busy over the last few months and the leadup to chrissy with custom wiring jobs, only just starting to get onto pending NIStune work now hence my absence from the forum. OK so do you still want the S15 Rytec? I sent that customer a few texts b...
