Re: Tune input ka24de-t

Curious as to why you lifted the whole fuel map higher (base was -6 in original values, and now 7 in new map) I played back the log and there is a bit of timing reduced around the mid - top end. It might be knock detection retarding timing. Have a look through our knock sensor tech notes: http://ni...

Tune input ka24de-t

This will be my first summer with my turbo ka24de engine and I need some general input. My logs show I need some work on the ignition map mainly. Others I've viewed have some ups and downs in the high load cells, mine only is slightly changed in those columns. Previous tune I had was flat in those c...

Re: Anomaly in accessed cells during log

Those accessed cells are the ones highlighted when your TPS value exceeds that in the 'Alpha/N Increase fuel' table and the ECU will potentially be using the last column for fueling Check values in this table are maxed out for turbo applications (255) Thanks, yes it turns out I still had those colu...

Re: Initial Tune cranks over, not run well 240sx KA-T

Small update: I have been doing a good bit of logging and am creeping up in RPM and timing. However I seemed to have run into a misfire issue as I start to go higher RPMs, particularly full throttle. It feels like an ignition cut but I am not sure. I was thinking of replacing my ignition wires but ...

Re: Anomaly in accessed cells during log

I ended up resolving the problem and attribute it to one of three things I did today and that is either the spark plug wires (replaced), the fuel filter (increased to a bigger volume filter) or it could have been my ignition coil ground connection that seemed a little loose/rusty. Probably the coil ...

Anomaly in accessed cells during log

I'm tracing a misfire issue that seems to be fuel related based on what I've found so far. The car won't go WOT without a strange acceleration cut of some sort. I was reviewing the logs and watching the trace on the fuel map and noticed the light and dark grey cells move around normally but then dur...

Re: Initial Tune cranks over, not run well 240sx KA-T

Thanks for your help Matt. The above is my very next step. I was battling a rough start/idle and I learned the injector adapters were not fully connected, actually the pins got pushed out but they were clipped/seated. Two of them were like this.. Anyways I am running much better now, the idle is goo...

Re: Initial Tune cranks over, not run well 240sx KA-T

I made a little progress tonight and basically started "from fresh" with an s13 ka24de stock tune, added z32 MAF, scaled injectors to the 520cc I have via K const, hooked up my wideband to see where I was at, disconnected the o2 sensor, and went and started the car. The car starts but stil...

Re: Jumper in wrong spot s13 ka24det, z32 MAF q.

Thanks for the input, what I ended up doing was swapping the nistune type 3 to my known good ecu, and am starting with that. It definitely starts the car better!

Re: Initial Tune cranks over, not run well 240sx KA-T

Here's also the initial tune I got when I purchased the ECU, and then downloaded it immediately. Guy was using a blow-through MAF setup versus me running it on the turbo intake about 18 inches away.

Re: Initial Tune cranks over, not run well 240sx KA-T

Here's a better, 30+ second log where I actually got it to run steady but it would not idle on its own. By the way, this program is awesome!

Re: Initial Tune cranks over, not run well 240sx KA-T

I've attached the tune file. The previous owner/person who got the tune was running a similar setup. I tried starting as it was, but had even worse luck. Adjusting my K value seemed to help it turn over more frequently.
Thanks!

Initial Tune cranks over, not run well 240sx KA-T

Hi all, I was able to get my nistune communicating and set up on my ECU! Check! Now that I have started logging I am trying to understand my cold start problem but nothing jumps out to me in the log. Complete lack of power, very hard to get the car to start. I adjusted MAF for my Z32 and injector k-...

Re: Jumper in wrong spot s13 ka24det, z32 MAF q.

Update: I was able to connect the PC program after swapping the jumper to the ECU and downloaded/saved the tune file from there. I compared it quickly to the s13 ka24de stock ROM tune and they are different but not unrecognizably different. MAF is set to z32 so that's a check, timing fuel etc all lo...
